Wendell Krinn Technical High School (K-Tech) cyber security students and special guest, Tampa General Hospital Chief Information Security Officer, Peter Rucys
Tampa General Hospital’s chief information security officer and longtime supporter of the cybersecurity program at K-Tech Peter Rucys will share his real-world experiences with students in an all-day Q&A session. He will discuss common security threats, daily job functions, certifications, professional organizations within the industry, and what education and skills students will need to become cyber professionals at places like Tampa General Hospital. After completing the first year of K-Tech’s cyber security curriculum in the 2018-2019 school year, students earned industry certification and at least two students were offered positions earning more than $40,000 annually directly after high school graduation.
